What it's like

Horseshoe-shaped offshore reef roughly 20 to 25 km north of Hurghada Marina where bottlenose and spinner dolphins rest; sightings are never guaranteed. HEPCA's 2013 code of conduct, mandatory for local skippers, keeps boats 30 m from dolphins and out of the lagoon, requires swimmers to wear fins, mask, snorkel and a life jacket, and bans touching, chasing and feeding, with a EGP 10,000 fine. It is open water with no beach, so guests swim from the boat.
